Rooftop @ Indochine by Supertree

During the visit of my sister, I brought her to drink at a rather fancy place.
The view was quite breathtaking.
We went to the rooftop at Indochine, in Gardens by the Bay.

Here is my sister again

I was here before with my friend last time
as you can see here in this post
That time, I made a reservation at the rooftop too but unfortunately it rained,
thus, we could not go to the rooftop.
Thankfully, weather was fine during the night when my sister was here

The entrance fee for the rooftop was SD 18/pax with complimentary of 1 house drink each

These are just glimpse of the view from above

These are what we had
the complimentary gin with sprite
I would have gotten a gin tonic but
it was officially my sister's first time drinking so sprite would be a lighter choice for her
Gin and Sprite
Spanish Fly
My sister with her Banana Dream
Then she wanted to try a shooter
Her first, shooter
The Buttery Nipple
My sister with her-buttery-nipple
It was rather awkward ordering this from the waiter
What's worse is he didn't get it the first time, so I had to repeat out loud
He still didn't get it, I just pointed it out from the menu
We just laughed about it after that.
The last drink we had was a Bailey's Shake
Bailey's Shake
The bar snacks
The deep fried squid
It was quite tasty
The salted egg yolk silver fish strips

This was surprisingly very oily compared to the squid
We did not enjoyed much of this because there were barely any fish meat under that batter
and all we could taste was the oil

For dessert..take away cheese cakes from Au Chocolat
where we had our late lunch earlier on that day
Good thing they were still 'looking good'
after a whole day of walking, bouncing, swinging around

The Dutch Apple Cheese Cake
The Try Me Cheese Cake
Both of them looked appealing.
even though we were rather full at that moment,
We couldn't just stare at it without taking a bite
One thing led to another, it had to be eaten somehow
What better place than enjoying it on a rooftop on a fine evening
It tasted delicious.
I would say that the Try Me cheesecake tasted more of a regular cheesecake with a mocha base
But it was good and moist
The Dutch apple Cheese cake was equally heavenly.

If I may go on..
I would like to share a little on what we had earlier on at Au chocolat
which was also not my first time visit there
I went there again with my sister mainly to let her try the Red Velvet
which I thought was the best I had so far
So here were our appetizer, main course and dessert

It was a fulfilling day.

Mexican Adventure

Another rainy day, another successful food hunt with non other than my big cousin brother, Melvin.
This next place, Mexout

Located in Far East Square along with other restaurants.
I chose this restaurant because it is newly opened, it was published in the news, and also I have not ate Mexican food before.

It has a simple decor.
The place is nice and comfortable though, great place for hanging out.

And now, the good stuff
These tacos comes in 3 for SD13
What we had lamb, pork and beef respectively in each.
With different types of salsa sauces each
salsa fresca (vegetarian), salsa picante and mango pineapple
This is the mini burrito with rice and char grilled chicken, SD9
Well, the portion was quite small for a price like that
Therefore, second round........
My couz ordered a
Nachos with black beans and pork meat, SD15

for me
The rice bowl with char grilled chicken because they ran outta lamb
and the spicy salsa sauce, SD 13

Drinks:
Tequila Sunrise, SD 10
It was happy hour for Margarita and Corona
So I had both for SD 7 each.

 Overall experience..
Staff were friendly, food were pricey
I will come back occasionally if my friends or family wanna try some mexican
But not on regular.

Adventure at Holland Village

Alright alright, here comes another one of my desperate desire to look for sweet stuff to 'taste'.
So, 22/10/12, anything goes.

My original plan was to head to the 2AM Dessert Bar to check it out. However it is not opened until 6pm, so alternative choice. I found this website, which led me to MU Parlour located nearby Holland Village MRT. Luckily I had done my research because without it I could not have found the place.

Because I was so excited, and so darn 'smart' at the same time, i brought my camera, WITHOUT any memory card in it. So the pictures were taken using my pathetic old Nokia phone. My apologies for the poor quality.

When i got there, the street looked exactly like the image in google map, thus i have no problem getting familiar wit the place.
 And there it was.

On the second floor, the stairway looked kinda welcoming to me
The decoration is simple, but nice. It has a white theme. The furnitures are cozy and it gives a homey feeling.

And this is the corner where i'm sitting.
When you're eating alone, there's nothing to do but to stare out into the streets, which is not that boring as a lotta cars, people are passing by.
The dessert counter..
I ate the beef burger no.11 on the menu. Yes, beef. It consists of the MU Parlour's special sauce.
For dessert, lychee and vanilla sponge cake and a Passionfruit and Sesame Chocolate tart.
An for beverage, I has a Jalisco Pop cocktail which main ingredients are rum and grapefruit juice.

The bill came up to SD50.60, which includes service charge, no GST.

Overall experience: i would rate it 4/5.
The service staff was friendly. The atmosphere is really cozy and music was not that bad, not my cup of tea but it suits the mood.
I'm not sure when my next dessert hunt would be but if there are readers out there, stay tuned =)
